This Cookie Policy explains how linqEV (Pty) Ltd uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at linqev.co.za. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally, and forms part of it.

Where cookies collect information that identifies you, or that can be linked to you, that information is personal information and is processed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA") and our Privacy Policy.

2. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit it. Cookies allow the website to recognise your device on a return visit, to remember choices you have made, and to collect information about how the site is used.

We also use similar technologies that work in comparable ways, including pixels, tags, local storage, and software development kits. In this policy, "cookies" refers to all of these.

We use cookies to:

• Keep the website and your session secure
• Remember your preferences, such as language, units, and default vehicle

4. The categories of cookies we use

Only essential cookies are set without your consent. Every other category is set only if you agree through our cookie consent banner.

5. Third-party cookies and providers

Some cookies are set by third parties that provide services to us rather than by linqEV directly. These providers process the information on our behalf and under contract, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes except as described in their own policies.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website. Google Analytics sets cookies that collect information about page views, session duration, and how visitors arrived at the site. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Where we embed content from a third party — for example a map, a video, or a social media feed — that provider may also set cookies. Their use of those cookies is governed by their own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to read.

6. Managing your preferences

When you first visit linqev.co.za, a cookie consent banner asks which categories of non-essential cookies you are willing to accept. Nothing other than essential cookies is set until you make that choice.

You can change your choice at any time by reopening the banner from the link in the website footer. You can also control cookies through your browser, which lets you block or delete cookies for our site or for all sites. Every major browser provides these controls in its settings, usually under privacy or security.

Change cookie preferences

Blocking or deleting cookies is your right, and doing so will not prevent you from using our charging network or the linqNRG app. It may mean that parts of the website do not work as intended — for example, you may have to sign in again or reset your preferences on each visit.

7. Withdrawing consent

Where we rely on your consent to set a cookie, you may withdraw that consent at any time by reopening the cookie consent banner and changing your selection, or by deleting the cookies through your browser.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out on the basis of your consent before you withdrew it. It also does not affect essential cookies, which are not set on the basis of consent.

8. The linqNRG app

The linqNRG mobile app does not use browser cookies. It uses session tokens and device identifiers to keep you signed in, to secure your account, and to collect crash diagnostics and usage analytics. You can manage analytics and marketing preferences in the app's privacy settings, and you can control app tracking through your device settings.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in applicable law. The current version, with its effective date, is always available at linqev.co.za/cookie-policy. Where changes are material we will notify you through the website or the cookie consent banner.
